Our Coffee Origins

Our coffees begin with trusted, long-term partnerships with farmers and traders around the world. At Unplowed Ground Coffee Co., we carefully source exceptional lots from every major growing region—Central and South America, Africa, and Indonesia—bringing together a diverse range of flavors and experiences in every offering.

Each specialty Arabica coffee we roast carries its own story and distinct character. From the rich volcanic soils of Latin America to the high elevations of East Africa and the lush landscapes of Indonesia, every bean reflects the environment in which it was grown. Factors such as region, microclimate, soil composition, varietal, and processing method all shape the final cup.

We honor these natural influences by roasting with intention and restraint. Rather than overpowering a coffee’s identity, we craft each roast to showcase the inherent qualities within, allowing the true character of the bean to shine through in every cup.

We’re proud to work alongside a trusted specialty coffee importer who has helped shape our offerings over the years. Through their long-standing partnerships with dedicated farmers and cooperatives, we gain access to some of the world’s most exceptional coffees—grown and processed with care at origin.

This relationship-driven value chain creates meaningful stability and, more importantly, sustainability in a global market that can be highly volatile. By supporting transparent, collaborative sourcing models, we help contribute to a system that protects quality while positively impacting the livelihoods of producers and their communities.

In addition, we’ve built direct relationships with farmers and producers in Honduras and Uganda, allowing us to truly connect a face to every cup. These partnerships give us the opportunity to share some of the finest specialty coffees each country has to offer while strengthening ties at origin.

We’re energized by these direct trade relationships and look forward to cultivating even more in the years ahead.
